The Women's Empowerment Network (WEN) page was redesigned to create a more engaging and accessible experience for employees to learn about the network, discover programs and events, and access related Diversity, Equity & Inclusion (DEI) resources.
The previous page contained valuable information, but its text-heavy layout and limited visual hierarchy made it difficult for employees to understand WEN's purpose or find opportunities to participate. The redesign focused on improving content organization, making key information easier to discover, and creating a scalable structure that could grow alongside the network.
Although the original page contained valuable information, employees lacked clear entry points into WEN. Important content such as the network’s purpose, programs, events, leadership, and learning resources was presented through long sections of text, making the experience difficult to scan and navigate.
To understand opportunities for improvement, I reviewed the existing WEN experience and collaborated with stakeholders to identify content priorities and employee needs.
Audited the existing WEN page to understand how information was organized and identify opportunities to improve hierarchy, readability, and content flow.
Reviewed engagement metrics before and after launch to measure how the redesign affected page visibility and employee interaction.
Worked with WEN stakeholders to understand the network's goals, prioritize important content, and ensure the redesign reflected their needs.
Collaborated with Internal Communications to ensure the page supported organizational messaging, accessibility, and employee engagement objectives.
Instead of treating the page as a collection of information, I redesigned the experience around how employees would naturally explore and engage with WEN.
The content was reorganized into meaningful sections, making WEN's purpose, programs, events, and resources easier to understand and navigate.
Important content such as events, initiatives, and DEI resources was given clearer placement within the page hierarchy to make opportunities easier to find.
The Meet the Team experience was redesigned to make team members more approachable while allowing employees to access detailed biographies when needed.
Reviewed the existing page structure to identify areas where content could be reorganized, simplified, and presented more effectively.
The page was restructured into clearer content sections:

Explored different layouts and content arrangements to improve hierarchy, readability, and overall page flow.

The original page introduced WEN through large amounts of text, making it difficult to quickly understand the network's mission.
The redesign separated the vision and purpose into clearer sections with improved hierarchy, allowing employees to understand WEN's goals more easily.

The redesign increased reach and engagement after launch, indicating that more employees were discovering and interacting with WEN content. While page views decreased, the reduced navigation depth suggests employees were able to find relevant information more efficiently rather than needing to explore multiple sections.
This project reinforced that effective UX is not always about increasing interactions, but about helping users find and understand information more efficiently.
By improving content organization, strengthening visual hierarchy, and redesigning key experiences such as Meet the Team, I created a more accessible and engaging experience that better supported WEN's mission of advocacy, inclusion, and connection.
